9 JUNE 2009weather allowing I will be concentrating on bowling and even using my radar / speed gadget before and after to see if there is any improvement in technique and therefore speed??
Bowling Speeds: (all in Miles an Hour - MPH)
Their runs ups were restricted due to the location of the practice nets at Caterham School, so perhaps next time do this using a rolling cage instead so run ups are not restricted.
They all know their speeds now with the majority averaging 50-55 mph. It also underlines to them that if they try too hard then the speed is down - a surprise for them?
So it is not down to sheer effort it is down to their bowling action - e.g. run up, delivery and follow through are all key to bowling. All need to fine tune small issues with their action which perhaps I can fine tune in a future bowling session.
Majority need to look at the target more in their action, this will help their action with their head level and looking at the target. Will cover this and other issues on the next bowling session.
