2. LBW:

You see it in the scorebook, so what does it mean?

ECB - Natwest - Cricket Force

The ECB Natwest CricketForce is an excellent imitative where by Cricket Clubs open all their doors to the local community and even to local business' so all can assist in large or small projects/tasks that are needed for your Cricket Club.

Some of these projects could simply include a spring clean and tidy up just before the season start. Or perhaps a major project like a new pavilion!!

It is also an excellent way of boosting membership to your great Club - non playing or playing members.

Example Jobs:

  • Painting the away changing room.
  • Painting the home changing room.
  • Washing the Site Screens - painting if necessary
  • Ensuring the boundary rope is fit for purpose
  • Fix the that wheel on the gadget that puts the rope out and away every week.
  • Scoreboard Numbers - some broken?
  • Cleaning the Glass Storage area (those mats they have to sit on)  in the Bar (if your club has one)
  • Checking Playing Equipment - Colts Equipment?
  • Spring Clean of the Showers - paint if needed.
  • Clear the winters leaves from the rainwater gutters on you pavilion. (Adults only for this one)
  • Repair that Tile from the Captains "6"....

The above can of course be done any time - so why not volunteer to your local cricket club today. I think you will enjoy it and especially the cricket in the summer - junior or senior.

ECB NATWEST - CricketForce 2009:

The dates are 3rd 4th and 5th April 2009. Your club can have a Cricket Force day if it wishes or to spread the load a Cricket Force weekend - 4 and 5.

The project may be bigger than this weekend, but it is a great way of waking up your community to the fact that they do have a Cricket Club on their doorstep.
