2011 Paul on Snowdon - Yr Wyddfa

Bed & Breakfast - Erw Fair Llanberis

Paul and Llwyd will be on Yr Wyddfa (SNOWDON)

Snowdon is one of the Welsh Munros standing at 3559 feet high  or 1085 metres

The plan is to climb on Monday 24 October or Tuesday 25 October 2011 - but only if the weather is suitable.

Well the weather suggested we climb Tuesday 25 October. I almost turned round 2 hours in as the weather was looking ominous as I have my son (11) and daughter (8) with me.

We started about 1030am - rather late if I was honest, but with the journey from Llanberis to Rhyd-Dhu it was never going to be a 9am start. This was a first for me e.g. not approaching Snowdon from PYG Track or Watkins Path but this route from Rhyd-Dhu Station.

Hafod Eryri on Yr Wyddfa

The new building - Hafod Eryri on Snowdon (Yr Wydffa) is now complete.

The official opening was Friday 12 June 2009, and I was there. I was a VIP for the day!!

Why you may ask, well I donated a substantial sum of money towards the cost of the new building.

Both my son (Llwyd) and I's names can be seen on the wall close to Haford Eryri's exit to the summit not set in Granite as first mentioned but on stainless steel plaques.

Hafod Eryri

She is stunning and we shall soon meet - I hope to climb Yr Wydffa - Snowdon on my arrival Thursday 11 June 2009 - depends on what the weather is like, even though I will be taking an "easier" route - The Pyg Track.
